Myotherapy is a form of manual therapy which focuses on the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal pain and associated pathologies.
Myotherapy incorporates trigger point therapy and a wide range of soft tissue massage and manipulation including: muscle energy technique, dry needling, and joint mobilisation.
Myotherapists also use stretching, nutritional advice, exercise prescription, postural advice and education, heat and cold therapy and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS).
Dry needling is a modern treatment designed to ease muscular pain. Filiform needles are inserted into the skin at trigger points to treat knotted and hard muscle.
The Filiform needles are fine and short and do not inject fluid (thus the name dry needling).
Has definitely made a difference in my duration of healing.
